Welcome to Hebridean Photography. Please take a look around the website, it’s image rich and I hope it will inspire you to visit these amazing Islands.

If you do, you’ll probably find me outdoors on the beaches or in the hills and if our paths do cross please don’t hesitate to say hello. It would be good to meet you!

Wishing you safe travels and good light.

Steve.

Technique & Equipment

My choice of equipment is based on a combination of aesthetic and technical appeal for both the cameras and lenses and a certain emotional attachment that I have with each them for various reasons. My film cameras are my fellow travellers, they are Fuji GX617, Fuji GSW690iii & GW690iii and a pair of Hasselblad 503cw’s. Camera support is with a selection of Gitzo carbon fibre tripods.

Portra 400 & 160 and Kodak Ektar 100 are my usual colour negative films and Tri-X, TMax 100, FP4+, Delta 100, Ilford SFX and Fujifilm Acros ii are my preferred black and white film choices. I process my colour black and white films myself.

I use a Hasselblad Imacon scanner to digitise my images and I print up to A2 size with a Canon Pro 1000 printer on Fotospeed High White Smooth and Platinum Etching cotton rag archival papers.

My digital cameras are Leica M10-R, Nikon D850 and Fujifilm X100F.
