Impressions

Movement and light. Air, sand and water hues.

Storms move through. Anger dissipated, balance restored .

Intentional camera movement (ICM) is motion blur in an image caused by deliberately moving the camera during the exposure. The effect can be controlled with practice by optimising the technique for the scene with sympathetic speed and direction of movement to control the balance between blur and subtle detail

If ‘rules’ are applied to creativity in photography, then they deserve to be broken. An image should provoke an internal personal discussion for the viewer.

An image worthy of display should be studied, examined and considered thoughtfully. It should encourage the formation of an opinion for the viewer without an irrational incumbrance of pre-conception or dogged adherence to rules.

My first forays into ICM were as if a veil had been lifted, a new layer of creativity had arrived at my fingertips.
